The Portalite MKII can be used to measure oxygenation in the frontal regions of the brain and/or in muscle non-invasively using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS).
The PortaMon is a wireless NIRS device that is specifically designed for muscle research.
Near infrared spectroscopy can be easily used to measure muscle oxygenation changes. In fact, sport science is one of the first research fields where mNIRS – muscle near infrared spectroscopy, found wide use application. Artinis offer portable, compact and solid systems that can be easily worn during movements and allow for wireless live monitoring of the muscle oxygen consumption. In addition to oxy-, deoxy- and total hemoglobin changes, you can also monitor local tissue saturation in the same set-up. You can now bring your lab outside and record muscle activity outdoor using the Artinis app on your phone.
