  • Efficacious in chronic migraine treatment, with long-lasting effects
  • Non-invasive, ambulatory procedure
  • Non-pharmacologic, little side effects
  • Can easily be combined with other treatments

Ozilia™ is a non-invasive medical device produced by Chordate Medical to prevent chronic migraine by intranasal vibrational stimulation of the sphenopalatine ganglion to trigger the trigeminal-autonomic reflex1.

The device consists in a catheter onto which a thin, inflatable balloon is mounted. This catheter is inserted in the patient nose, one nostril at a time, and a gentle vibration at a certain frequency is applied to the catheter for 20 minutes (10 minutes per nostril). The procedure is carried out at the clinic by trained personnel. To maintain its effects of reduction of migraine attacks’ frequency, the treatment should be repeated after a few months according to patients’ needs and conditions.

Since May 2021, Chordate Medical’s Ozilia™ treatment has been CE-marked for the preventive treatment of chronic migraine in adults over 18 years of age.
