eSeminar | Fundamentals of EMG/NCS Waveforms

24 February, 2022 - 24 February, 2022

(Thursday) 11:00 am – 12:00 pm EST

Event Details

Course introduction:
The waveforms recorded in electrodiagnostic studies provide information about their generators. In this webinar, Dr. Sanjeev Nandedkar will present some basic waveforms that are generated by muscle fibers and their relationship to the recording electrodes. This is useful to properly interpret EMG and nerve conduction recordings and to recognize potential pitfalls.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the relationship between the EMG/NCS waveforms, their generators and location of the recording electrode.
  • Demonstrate the role of firing rate in assessment of spontaneous activity.
  • Study the influence of the reference electrode and differential amplifier on the waveforms.

CE Credits:
This course is approved for 1.0 CEC Contact hour by AAET – American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists.

Speaker:
Sanjeev Nandedkar
