With Industry 4.0 and the emerging Industry 5.0, human presence within production is paramount. This webinar delves into human-robot collaboration (HRC), human-machine interaction (HMI), and human-robot interaction (HRI) in modern manufacturing. Discover how stress can arise for novice operators when dealing with cobots, and learn the crucial physiological responses during human-technology interactions. Explore the significance of wearable sensors in real-time monitoring of well-being, stress, and cognitive load. We'll delve into the complexities of stress analysis, using a multimodal approach including EEG signals. Join us to unravel key EEG parameters for stress assessment, from preprocessing to metric extraction, and explore labeling strategies and AI applications. Ultimately, we'll explore how stress analysis, potentially in real-time, can enhance safety, prevent work-related illnesses like burnout, and foster adaptable, human-centric production systems.

Simone Borghi, Ph.D. – Student at the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Campus Ingegneria Enzo Ferrari.
Simone Borghi, PhD student at the Department of Industrial Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” (UNIMORE) in Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, brings a wealth of expertise in industrial biotechnology. Armed with a master’s degree in the field, his research has been primarily focused on the design and development of biosensors utilizing organic polymeric semiconductors for the real-time detection of COVID-related biomarkers, notably interleukin 6 (IL-6). His groundbreaking thesis, titled “Specific sensing of Interleukin 6 (IL-6) with organic electrochemical transistor (OECTs),” earned him recognition within the academic community. Expanding his knowledge beyond biotechnology, Simone pursued additional coursework in emerging fields such as cyber security, blockchain, machine and deep learning, and data analysis through master's courses organized by FORPIN of Emilia Romagna. During this period, he also dedicated his time to educating children affected by autism, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact beyond academia. In November 2022, Simone embarked on his doctoral journey at the esteemed Xilab laboratory within the Enzo Ferrari Engineering Department (DIEF) at UNIMORE. Under the guidance of his mentor, Margherita Peruzzini, he delves into research topics encompassing factory ergonomics, mixed and augmented reality, as well as User Experience (UX) and User-Centered Design. His current research thrust focuses on analyzing human stress within the Industry 4.0 landscape. Leveraging state-of-the-art sensor technologies, including the Enobio 20 EEG helmet from Neuroelectrics, Simone specializes in deciphering various psycho-physiological signals such as ElectroEncephaloGram (EEG), ElectroCardioGram (ECG), Galvanic Skin Response (GSR or EDA), eye tracking activity, facial expression, and body gesture. Simone's groundbreaking work recently culminated in the acceptance of his paper, 'Unlocking Human-Robot Dynamics Introducing SenseCobot, a Novel Multimodal Dataset on Industry 4.0,' at the prestigious HRI 2024 conference in Colorado. The resulting dataset, dubbed SenseCobot, represents a significant contribution to the field and is available for free download on the Zenodo platform (SenseCobot). With his multidisciplinary expertise and dedication to advancing knowledge, Simone Borghi continues to push the boundaries of research and innovation in his quest to enhance human-machine interactions in the digital age.
