OctaMon: 8-Channel and truly portable NIRS-device

The OctaMon is the multichannel version of our PortaLite NIRS-equipment. It has 8 channels covering the whole prefrontal cortex. The OctaMon is ideal for capturing brain activity while having the freedom to do e.g. physical exercise. Like the PortaLite, it measures changes in oxygenation in terms of oxyhemoglobin, deoxyhemoglobin and total hemoglobin. This device can be applied in a variety of dynamic settings as often required in neuroscience and sports science research.

  • Measures local tissue saturation index as well as oxy-, deoxy- and total hemoglobin
  • Bluetooth connection with a laptop or on-board data collection
  • Up to 7 hours on one rechargeable battery – expandable to 16 hours
  • Lightweight recorder with the size of a cell phone
  • Different headband sizes available
  • Superior analysis software, Oxysoft
